I was quoted in two major publications
in India on April 18 and July 2 of 2014.

Don't look
outwards: Seeking
external sources of happiness can sabotage your peace. San Francisco-based
sustainable happiness expert Dr Aymee Coget suggests, "Focus on controlling
your emotional state by choosing happiness and adopting positive psychology
principles, build your resilience, follow your heart and meditate into the
greatest states of bliss."
Don't fail
to live in the moment: "It
is our nature to dwell on past events, especially negatives. We need six
positives for our brain to overcome what happened in the past. Training our
mind to live in the moment — a sink-or-swim skill — is the way to
happiness," Coget says. Learn from past mistakes, but live in the present.
Throughout my career as a happiness expert, I
have multiple experiences being written up in newspapers from local, national,
and international.
Yet this year, I was so touched by being quoted in two major
publications in India.
The truths of happiness science combined with the ancient
traditions of spiritual bliss have guided my thinking and teaching of my 5
steps to sustainable happiness.
Since 2004, I have studied with Jinendra Swami who specializes in
Sustainable Happiness and have practiced Reiki Mastership for thirteen years.
Two traditions based in spiritual lineages.
Connecting the new science of happiness with the ancient spiritual
traditions has been a wonderful convergence for me.
Since 2011, I have experienced multiple spiritual awakenings and
in my first one, the Swami I study with gave me an Indian name, Lakshmi
Saraswati – which translates to:
Lakshmi - Hindu Goddess of
wealth, love, prosperity (both material and spiritual), fortune, and the
embodiment of beauty.
Saraswati - Hindu Goddess of knowledge, music, arts, wisdom and nature.
Combining what I have
learned from happiness science and what I have experienced in spirituality has
proved to be a rewarding path!
I have been blessed to receive multiple spiritual awakenings in
the last 3 years and this is a gift I hold in my heart very dear.
When I was quoted this past April in the Times of India, I had my
largest kundalini
awakening which lasted 10 days!
I was unaware the article ran at the time of one of the most
intense experiences of my life, in hindsight I wonder about how bringing
knowledge of happiness to India had something to do with my most recent
spiritual awakening.
This is something I will never know. Yet I wanted to
let the people of India know I hold your history and culture dear to my heart
and it meant a lot to be quoted in the major media outlets in your
country. And, it could have led to another spiritual uplift in my
life.
May I continue to share the blessings and teachings of sustainable
happiness in your lives and beyond!
Om Shanti Om
